When searching for the perfect group of people to help take care of you on your wedding day, you want to be sure that they are experienced and knowledgable in the field. The staff at Milestone Cinema are experienced videographers, with several years of wedding-specific experience under their belts. We've prepared a list of common questions that many prospective brides and grooms ask. Read them over and if you have any additional questions that we haven't touched on, please feel free to Contact Us with any questions that you might have.

Please read over our freqently asked questions. Some of your questions might be answered below:

What do you mean when you say "custom"?
You may have read some of the descriptions of our work, and the word "custom" is used frequently. That means that the DVD and Blu-ray that we'll create of your wedding will be totally unlike any other. Specifically, that means that the animated menus, music and graphics, exterior packaging and the DVD disc itself will look unlike any other that you have ever seen. And, the best part is — you're the star and the focus of that product.

Some of our competitors slap a DVD into a generic box; or for a customized box, they'll charge you an additional fee. Not us. That is part of every single one of our packages.

The DVD case and disc to the right is a perfect example of what we mean when we say custom. This particular couple were married on Valentine's Day. We felt that it was only appropriate that we give them an appropriate DVD box design — one that perfectly fit their special day. They were quiet pleased.

Why is your company called "cinema" and not "video"?
This question comes up all the time, and it is a great one. What we do for our customers is totally unique in the field. We view your wedding as an event, that once we film it, becomes a movie. Meaning, we professionally edit the footage to create watchable movie, with an opening, credits, custom graphics and music. The end product will be something that you and your family will genuinely enjoy watching.

Is editing included in the final price?
Yes.

Do you accept lists?
Yes! In fact, we encourage you to do so. It makes our job easier. Lists, or shooting scripts, tell us exactly what you'd like to see on your movie. To explain, we do know that the basic events must be covered at the reception (the garter toss, the cake cutting, etc.) but if there are special things that you would like to see on your film, please tell us. And telling us in advance is a great way to do so.

What kind of equipment do you use?
We use professional Canon and Panasonic cameras, which are among the best available. We also use a wireless microphone system. This helps the overall audio experience immensely. When we hook the groom up, he will be transmitting the entire day, eliminating the need for large wired microphones (which are not allowed at many wedding venues) and capturing everything that the bride, groom and wedding official says during the ceremony.

What will your videographer be wearing?
Our representatives will come nicely dressed — slacks (or skirt, depending) and a dress shirt or blouse are what our videographers come dressed in. We know that our videographer is there to serve you, and we still understand one thing — your event is special and our representative will be dressed appropriately.

How far in advance do you take bookings?
If we are available for your wedding, then we could be available on very short notice. This is another way that we like to be flexible for our customers. If, for some unknown reason, you decide at the last minute that you'd like a professional videographer to cover your wedding, then we would like to help as much as possible.

What photographic style do you use?
This is an interesting question. Many expect us to say either "photojournalistic" or "documentary" style. To clear the differences up between those two styles:

  • Photojournalistic style usually means that the events, people and happenings are
captured in a very candid style.
  • Documentary videography style is a more formal method and it much more structured.

And much of that depends on what you want us to do. But generally, we conduct our filming in both styles. For example, if we are asked to film the Morning with the Bride, then we will usually cover it from a Photojournalistic point of view, because you want those comments, reactions and funny moments on your DVD or Blu-ray. On that same token, if we are filming the ceremony, we approach it from a very formal point of view. The style is determined by what you and your guests are doing — not by some set plan of action. This makes for a better film for you to enjoy.

How many individuals work on your staff?
We currently have two full-time videographers on our staff. For exceptionally large weddings (or when specified by the customer), we have two other experienced part-time videographers that we can call on. These are professionals whom we have worked with many times in the past
.

Do you accept credit cards?
Yes. This is something that our clients have been requesting for some time, and we have taken the steps to make that method of payment available. We now accept, cash, check and charge.
